Milpitas, CA ? April 8, 2014; today Cermetek Microelectronics, Inc. announced a single embedded module which supports both 802.11b/g/n WiFi and 100Base-T Ethernet. The CH232BGN enables embedded designers to utilize both Ethernet and WIFI connections. The CH232BGN is a surprisingly compact, easy-to-use, through-hole component. Prices in small volumes are under fifty dollars.
For more than 30 years Cermetek has supplied communications components for embedded systems. Cermetek has now applied that experience to local area network (LAN) and wireless local area network (WLAN) communications. The compact 1 inch by 1.6 inch size of the CH232BGN allows it to fit into a wide variety of embedded systems. The built-in antenna and conveyed FCC Part 15 certification streamlines system integration. A set of simple serial AT commands controls the module?s operation and configuration.
The CH232BGN supports both WiFi and Ethernet connectivity. Because it supports both the wireless and wired local area network communications, the CH232BGN can be used as a network access point linking the wired Ethernet and wireless WiFi networks. It can also connect equipment to an existing WiFi or Ethernet network. The CH232BGN supports 802.11 b, g, and n WiFi standards. The wired connection supports 100Base-T interfaces.
Cermetek President Henry Roskos said, ?With this embedded WiFi solution Cermetek offers embedded systems designers both Ethernet and Wifi connectivity in a single, easy to use component.?
