DESCRIPTION
Pill dispensers that measure the appropriate doses of prescription medications can greatly reduce the potential for unintended overdoses. But most dispensers do not take any measures to help the patient that forgets their medications entirely. The latest generation of prescription medication dispenser now reports when pills are missed.
The Cermetek XE0092 telephone line interface module plays a key role in reporting the missed medication. The pill dispenser is programmed with the telephone numbers of several caregivers. These can include family as well as professional caregivers. When the missed dosage is identified, the dispenser calls each of the caregivers and provides a recorded voice message to report the person has failed to take their medication for that day.
