FCC Part 68 Compliance: In the United States all equipment connected to the telephone line must meet FCC Part 68 Rules. All Cermetek telephone line interface modules comply with FCC Part 68 rules. Some including the CH1840 and XE0068DT provide FCC Registration. This registration is transferable to Cermetek customers without additional FCC Part 68 Testing.
Line Monitor Functions: All Cermetek DAA modules monitor the telephone line for incoming Ring signals. Some also monitor the voltage on the telephone line to determine when the line is available for use.
Caller ID: Some Cermetek telephone line interface modules allow passage of the Caller ID signal through to the host equipment. After decoding the signal the host equipment can respond only to specified numbers.
Packages: Cermetek offers telephone line interfaces in a variety of package styles including hermitically sealed products for harsh environments, open circuit board modules for lowest cost, and a choice of through-hole or surface-mount modules.
Leased Lines: Leased lines provide a permanent connection between two points. Because no switching is done on these lines, they typically do not carry loop current. Many Cermetek DAA modules will operate without the presence of loop current. |
