Cermetek offers a variety modem modules that operate at speeds of 14,400 bits per second to 56,000 bits per second for those applications with large amounts of data to transfer. Each of these models also supports lower data rate connections for applications that only sometimes need to send large files.

- Agency Compliance: All Cermetek modems include transferable FCC Part 68 Registration. In addition some are TBR21 compliant for use in the European Union and some are certified for use in Canada.

- Packages: Cermetek offers many modem packages. These include hermitically sealed modems for harsh environments, open circuit board modules for lowest cost, and through-hole or surface-mount choices. Products include the world’s smallest modem modules which require less than 1 square inch of board space.

- 56K Modem Operation: 56K modems utilize either the V.90 or V.92 protocol. Both protocols require a PCM connection on the other end of the link. This means that only one end of the link utilizes an analog signal. The maximum data rate between any two analog modems is 33,600 bits per second.

- Evaluation Kits: Cermetek offers Evaluation Kits for many of our modem modules. The evaluation kits include a modem mounted on an adapter board which can be connected to a PC serial port. You can then issue commands to exercise the modules and confirm that they meet the system requirements. These Evaluation kits are priced from $85.
